Ubuntu Experience:
I'm fairly new
About Me:
Hi! I am Ashok Gelal from the land of Mt. Everest, Nepal. I won't say I use Linux regularly but yes I do love to play with Linux and always want to see 'grub' while I boot into my computer. I've a little experience of web site design so I love playing with php. At BSU and in USA, Spring 2008 is my first semester doing Computer Science Majors. I am a die-hard fan of Object Oriented Programming.
Just saw a flier on the Math&Geoscience building about this group so I signed up immediately. I am very supportive for any flavor of Linux. I do like Fedora Linux but have heard lot of Ubuntu. So, soon going to try it. I wanna see Linux being as a productive OS rather than a Always-Tweak-OS. I hope, being as a member of this group, I can play a part to ease the use of Linux for those who are new. Also, I hope I can learn something new from those who are already having Linux under their belts for a couple of years. BTW, English is not my first language so excuse me for any of my inconvenient English. Go Broncos! Go Linux!

He came yesterday with his laptop to get Ubuntu installed. He was more than satisfied with all the things. He was very proud not to be called 'Pirate' any more. His friend had told him that he need to spend a lot of time tweaking Linux OS to work for him; installing library files, install each and every codecs manu… Continue

Install Linux without burning a CD/DVD

The first hurdle you come across when you think of using Linux is not 'to know how to install' it, but you will be confused 'whether to install or not'. The benefits of using Open Source Software are great. You hear a lot about them and you think to give it a go for a test. But when you know you have to burn the .ISO file into a CD/DVD, you start scratching your head. Why to waste a CD/DVD when you are not sure you will be using it or not? Also, for people like me, who like to tast… Continue
