Ubuntu Experience:: I'm fairly new

About Me:: So I started this group because I want to learn about ubuntu. I'm not a linux expert by any means. I just need to put that out there before you make any rash judgment.

Basically I became obsessed with the open source philosophy, and jumped into the Linux computing world with absolutely no experience. It was so bad, that I lost windows, and a very friendly guy out of Greece walked me through it on Instant messenger in broken English.

I'm sure many of you have had similar experiences along the way, isn't it time we all gave back a little? That is why I started this group. I seriously don't wish to be the "leader" but I can make things happen, and I hope this will work for all of us. Thanks, and I hope to see you at a meeting sometime!

I have no idea where all of you came from, but we are very happy to have this much support! We're meeting this Saturday, and I will have a more structured format to follow through the meetings, I promise. April Updates!

As you may already know, April 24th is the release date for Ubuntu 8.04! We've got a lot of stuff to do before then! I want to put up some flyers around campus, letting people know about the release with our group address as well! there are Ubuntu users out there! Phil found me and joined our ranks recently. Meeting #2

I want to have another meeting, (like meet every other week or so). But this time I think we can assign some tasks for each of us to do. That way we can start to make some real progress. Ryan told me he's very close to having a customized operating system done. Education topics: -Back up programs (for ryan especially). -Terminal education and linux commands -New flyers, -appearance in front of student senate. Saturday @ 3pm ILC Room 205. -Trent
