I have been beating my head against the wall.... My church makes video dvds from our pastor's sermons and I would like to extract the audio from the DVD so I can transfer the audio to my ipod shuffle... Anyone know how to extract audio that I can convert to an MP3? If so could you email me on how to do it.... Greatly appreciated!

Hi Roger,
I haven't tried this but transcode -p /dev/dvd/ -T 1,-1 -a trackNo -y raw -m myChurchTrack.mp3 might solve your problem. Try to change trackNo with 1,2,3 and so on. You might need to do some 'trial and error' but I'm pretty much sure it should work for you. You need to install transcode first. $sudo apt-get install transcode. Let us know if it works. BTW don't forget to check 10 powerful Linux commands from my blog, one of which talks converting a wav file into mp3
