I've just created a small BSU Search Plugin for Firefox. If you want to search anything inside boisestate.edu website, you don't need to open the site. Just search right inside from the Firefox search box. Look at the screenshot below. I've attached
bsu.xml file. Put it inside
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/searchplugins /usr/share/ubufox/searchplugins directory and you should be ready to go. It works well in Windows too, just copy the file into
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins.
Right now I'm not attaching the embeded URI encoded BSU logo as shown in the screenshot. I will contact Printing and Graphic Services to ask if I can embed logo into the file.
Embedding a customize search engine such as this can be one of the attractive features of BroncOS. We can include search plugins for searching books/journals/publications from Albertsons Library's website too, for an example.
