About Me:
Hi, I am Roger Goerrich. I am a senior at Boise State University majoring in Social Sciences. I am married and live in Kuna. My wife Dana is also a BSU student majoring in Music Education. We currently have no children.

I have always been interested in computers since I was 6. My first computer was a Commodore 64 which my mother still has to this very day and it still works just as good as it did when we bought it back when it first came out.

I was first introduced to Ubuntu over 2 years go when my Dell Inspiron 1150 got a bad virus and wiped out my hard drive. At the time I couldn't afford to buy a copy of windows and had no recovery disk. A very good friend of mine who I worked with at the time brought me a copy of Ubuntu 6.10 and told me to try it out.

At first I installed it and was not happy because my wireless card would not work and none of my windows programs would work, but, after reading a couple of books my friend gave me and learning a little bit by teaching myself with hands on training, I am proud to say I am a happy Ubuntu user.

After 2 years, I regret to say however, my beloved Dell Inspiron 1150 that started the birth to me being an Ubuntu user has passed on to that computer lab in the sky. I replaced it with a Compaq Presario C751NR and am happy as ever using Ubuntu 8.04LTS.

How to Sync Blackberry with Evolution.

Great news if you own a Blackberry. I have finally figured out how to set up your Blackberry to sync with Ubuntu.

Here are the following step by step instructions:

Ripping audio from DVDs

I have been beating my head against the wall.... My church makes video dvds from our pastor's sermons and I would like to extract the audio from the DVD so I can transfer the audio to my ipod shuffle... Anyone know how to extract audio that I can convert to an MP3? If so could you email me on how to do it.... Greatly appreciated!

Help, I can't get my wireless card to work...

my laptop crashed over the summer and I ended up having to install a new hard drive into it. I lost ALL my data. I ended up having to install vista on my laptop. Compaq Presario C751NR, 120GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Intel 1.6GHZ Processor, Atheros Wireless card. I installed ubuntu back on it but cannot get my wireless card to work, even after going through the steps on installing it onto my computer.. Can anyone help?
